Cheryl Thorpe is a life-long resident of South Windsor and animal lover who has been grooming dogs and cats since 1987. In 1993 she opened her current salon, conveniently located just off of Sullivan Avenue.
During her nearly 30 year career she has taken pride in delighting her customers with exceptional service and attention to detail. Quite a while she groomed Bichon Frises for the show ring with great success, but of course all shapes and sizes of dogs are welcome to the salon, from the tiniest teacups to the largest of the giant breeds. Come here and you're treated like family! Every dog that leaves her shop looks sensational because she is a stickler for perfection! Additionally, Cheryl is one of the few groomers in the area who does full grooming and coat maintenance on cats. The gentle soaps and conditioners used in the salon will leave your pet wonderfully clean and soft. Hypoallergenic oatmeal baths available upon your request as well.
Besides pet styling, Cheryl provides overnight boarding for your canine companion in the comfort of her own home located at the front of the shop. Your best friend will never be in a cold cement cage alone! Her fully fenced yard provides a safe, fun environment for play and exercise. Special attention is given to mealtime and medicinal needs according to your instructions. Be assured that your pet will be pampered while you're away and have a vacation of its own!
When Cheryl is not grooming she enjoys gardening, cooking and cuddling with her calico cat.
Amanda has been working with Cheryl at Pride and Groom since being certified as a professional groomer in 2005. In this 10 years she has mastered her craft and is much sought after for her technique and expertise. She is a gentle groomer who pays special attention to the needs of elderly and anxious dogs that need TLC. Her signature style is one of clean lines and perfectly balanced form, accentuating the best aspects of your dog's breed and temperament. She loves her profession and it shows in all her work! When she is not grooming, she enjoys time with her family, gardening and the beach.
Amber is a highly gifted groomer we have on staff. With over 10 year's experience in the profession, her artistry shows in all she does giving a special flare to her styling. Your pet will look fabulous once she's done with her amazing scissor work always with your preferred look in mind.
When she's not at the salon, Amber enjoys camping, kayaking, cooking and kicking back with her two cats.
I've brought my dog here for the last year. She's a Shih Tzu and when I've brought her to other groomers in the area none of them have done as nice a job as Cheryl's. They always fit her in, do a great job at grooming her and their prices are competitive. I won't be taking my dog anywhere else in the near future.
Our bichon Dino has been going to Cheryl weekly since he was 6 months old. He's 13 now. There is no one else we'd think to bring him to. Everyone there is talented and friendly. They keep Dino looking exactly as a bichon frise should look: fluffy and pampered. Cheryl even takes care of him when we go on vacation, and never for a moment do we worry that he's not being taken care of. Her home is his second home. Thanks Cheryl.
